Anncmt # 2

Also, if any of y'all have a weakness for LLBEAN stuff, go to their website b/c this is when they have their HUGE annual sale. It's even cheaper Feb 1st, but as I painfully found out last year, most of it has been picked over and is no longer avail. as is, some of the stuff they have now is the "left overs" but I don't care what color my folding padded camp seat is! ;)

Your public service announcement

Post office hasn't exactly been forthcoming about this, but: Postage goes up 2 cents on us mail and 4 cents on overseas mail as of Jan. 8th (I've had to go to the post office TWICE to find out and they had to dig through a huge book to tell me!!) So if y'all have anything HEAVY, etc to mail, do it soon. If not, stick some extra sense, er, cents, on that huge envelope before you mail it out for AC's DD tickets! ;)

The story of a dog and a tree:

plotting dog
Last night after cleaning up our plates from sup,
While lounging around in the living room,
We watched our Christmas tree come crashing down.

Befelled by an annoyed and avenging mutt,
It had no gut to stay put.
It gave up the fight to our pulling and chewing pup.

Alas, our Christmas tree is no more,
It has fallen on the floor,
And was dragged out the door.

Nobody knows why,
But the dog wanted attention, and decided to try.
And did he try!

It was so funny we felt like crying,
We cried so hard that anyone would have thought
We were dying.

Did you send your coupons in yet?

Nag, nag. Everyone post here as soon as you do, and thereafter to let us know the status. I was able to get enough for another ticket for EW yesterday, so she will have one for hubby too. Today I am working finishing one up for a friend of my son's (his roomies started it)so he can come see them.

Ideas for Next Christmas

Let's see if I was able to keep track of them all:

1) Only get gifts for people if u see something for them and want to get it. If you don't, no pressure. Christmas has evolved into too much pressure as it is!

2) Appetizer's only. I kinda like a different take off on this one: Bring one or two of your favorite eats and we'll have a crazy-quilt type of eating: totally non-sensical. If someone brings mashed potatoes, great, if someone brings guava jam with chedder cheese, great. If AB makes her rolls, great. Etc, etc. Though the "appetizer's only" idea sounds GREAT! I've heard of other families doing that: they just graze on appetizers all day long. sounds kinda unhealthy, BUT sure beats someone having to stress out about dishes, coordinating/cooking all that food, etc.. Whaddya all think about AC's suggestion? (and oh yeah, obviously people can do dairy stuff-we just offer alternatives so Jim has at least three or four things to eat. Not just potatoes and meat, like one Thanksgiving in particular!!!) (As far as no white flour/sugar, etc. I think that is pretty much a lost cause)

3) I really don't think celebrating the weekend AFTER Christmas next year will work for quite a few people's schedule (ie, military and medicine) as you're allowed only a few set, precious days off to run home really quickly.

Any other ideas people? (and PS A,C and Cody: we really missed you and wished you were with us!!)

Let's start a discussion.......

Since I'm sick of looking at my bare thighs anyways! ;)

Anywho, what ARE we eating for brunch at Grandma's house? This is a whole new repoatoire (go ahead and correct me ac!) of food for us. NO BUTTER/MILK PLEASE (unless it can't be avoided. say, cheesecake for instance). Hmm. I really hope brunch involves apple pie (made by grandma of course) and pecan pie and pumpkin pie. Hmm. Maybe that's all I should eat for breakfast!

And Em, tag, you're it-you or amy get to make the coffee (cough, cough) ;)

Okay, this in general just really irks me

I was gonna rite 'iritates my' but thot that my ent cinde wuld korect muh spelin.

Anyways, I can up load pictures on JIM's computer, but I can't upload from mine.

Minor problem b/c 99.9% of the pictures are stored on my computer since we have an external back-up hard drive for it.

How to fix,how to fix?

And oh yeah, this is a quilt I made for my friend Huma (from undergrad and med school) when she got married (it's her white coat that I borrowed under false pretenses!) ;)

trying try 1 again

this is another attempt to post from the blogger post (not flickr). Last night the computer finally blew up, I mean, Tim had to finish a paper so I finally stopped the attempt to load the picture.
okay, this time when I checked back it had loaded the same picture 3x. Interesting. I erased 2.

Tim got his first deer this year; the only family deer. It is good.

try 2 - flickr

they'll be large; you can delete. tag-board is quite a ways down on my browser (firefox) - below these pics. at least it is before I posted this.
Let me try to insert some comments (since Brenda M. left us all hanging!) (this techincally isn't my blog AC, it's AUNT BRenda's blog): Picture #1:Dave: "If I just keep smiling, then Brenda will stop taking pictures so we can finally EAT!!"Mom: "Look, no baret!"Korean Kid: "Look ma, what a strange American family you entrusted me to!"Nick: "AA, did you by any chance roast some jalapenos for me? Horseradish then?"Tim: "Come on ALREADY, mom!!"Nate: "Smile and back away folks. That's how I've survived thus far!"
Picture #2:Nate: "You don't know it, but I've secretly shoved half a deer in my mouth already. Hmmmm...let's see how much more stuff I can fit in. Beat I can say "99" ten times fast with my mouth full. Can you?"
Picture #3:Everyone: If you just keep eating and ignore her, she'll stop taking pictures and go away eventually.

Can anyone else download pictures to the blog?

Because I can download and send pictures via aol, but still can't figure out how to bypass norton to download them here. so, can one of y'all with oodles of freetime (yeah, right) try to download some pictures here?
ab-got any thanksgiving pics??

AHhhhhh!

okay, if anyone can answer this question, I'd be most grateful: we've uploaded the latest version of norton on my computer and I've disabled pop-up blocking so I can load pictures on the blog here, but there's something else I have to disable in order to load them into the blog itself.

anyone got any suggestions? if not, no pictures from me for quite awhile I'm afraid.
sigh.
