MounTAin Family Round Robin
"Do I have such a shortage of crazy people that you brought this one to act crazy around me?..."1 Sam.21:15 Kudos to Aunt B. for striking this idea:an ingenious way to have our NOW EXTENDED family meet, share photos, stories, laughter, etc. Too bad hugs & Grandma's apple pie can't transmite over the internet. This is a work in progress. Please feel free to vocalize and direct. Just pretend it's picnic on Grandpa's land: all hands on board?? YES!!! (and a few sticky ones too I might add) ;)

As requested, the jumpers
I need to keep working on figuring out how to "stop action". The last ones were taken at dusk, which didn't help. The kids were great, even if I couldn't get a clear picture :)

What exactly are these people looking at and thinking about? (baby shower #3)

I think we've got overwhelmed, concentrating, dreaming, happy, giddy, and grumpy. And I know what the camera is focused on but I am being polite and not mentioning it. And besides, it is autofocus so it is hardly my fault.

Looking this way and that way.

Anyone who has seen Carolyn's "the light isn't on" expression knows that this is an improvement. And Amie? I suspect that she is glad the opening is done (but I could be wrong).
Not sure why there are no pictures of Amy or Anita, except that I was sitting next to them? Sorry, curly girls, no offense.
A FEW of the fish sightings (baby shower #2)
really cute handpainted fish shortalls

Who put this on the gift register?

A fish story??

Save These Dates!
C and A are due with a (predicted-modern technology STILL NOT 100% accurate people) baby boy Oct. 7th. Stay tuned for further developments. ;)
AC and I were talking about a family reunion next year at the islands. The week of June 5th through June 9th is the projected date. Mark it on your calendars and make your reservations as as you are allowed (mom, what's the website again??).
A's baby shower in Wyoming (not the state, as I was puzzled that it was!) is Sat. July 23rd. AC and Grandma are gonna crash that party (joking!) if anyone else wants to hitch a ride or send a present along (and as usual, G.Sale gifts are much appreciated! ;)

This just in --
At about 1:35 this afternoon, David came through town--

Nick and I were in the backyard, taking pictures of a hatching chick, when we heard a bump and a big thump. Nick noted that it looked like Anita's van. I opened the door and climbed in and conversed with him, enough to guess that he wasn't in pain, and that he was concerned about hurting anyone and WHERE IS THE DOG? I went into the shop for a moment to make sure no one was hurt in there and went back out, advising the kids to have Nate call 911 and Anita. Somehow they also called Grandma and Emily - not sure who. Anyway, since it was taking time for emergency help to get there, we started working on moving some stuff in the van, calling the dog, moving the seat back, etc. I wanted to keep David talking. We finally helped him get turned about in his seat and slightly moved to the middle seat. Then the ambulance and police got there and we moved out of the way.

The store owners are odd and not very friendly. The man is a detective cop somewhere and was really not friendly when referring to me when speaking to the trooper in charge. No idea why. All I had done was reassure them. This should be a matter of prayer - people are "sue" happy sometimes.
This is hardly the whole story but it is at least a stab at the beginning of the story.

from AC

View from our front patio

We usually have this pool to ourselves. It overlooks a small "lake" which you can see in the background. There is a nice hottub on the other side of the pool with water the temperature of a boiling pot. I am looking forward to using it during the handful of days it gets a little "chilly" around here. As Loren says, this place is quite a dump!

Hey niece A we are going to your town's fireworks this Friday.
I know, it's a long way to go for some fireworks.
Watch the local news tonight...
My nephew(s)-in-law are flying into your local airport tonight, and will be interviewed by a bunch of stations, so watch it and let me know... don't know if it will be the 6:00 news or the 10 or 11 o'clock one. Just keep your ears open for my last name.

Cindy's Picture and Amy's Sunburn.
Sorry, I waited too long to plow through my email: Cindy, that picture of a Cuban Anole outside your house on the tree got lost (aol throws out new mail after a certain amount of weeks if you don't answer it).
Amy, no one ever looks at my flickr photos (you can see/count how many times people have looked at them). For example, I have pictures on there that have been there for MONTHS that people either haven't looked at at all or only one person has looked at them.
The picture of your sunburn has generated four views in under two hours.
Very interesting.
This is starting to remind of me the time we went to see the Annie play and the guys whistled at your short skirt (and not my long, staid one) and didn't break into our van afterwards. ;)
Thanks Mom!
Can you see Jim hiding behind the tree in the apt? ;)
Right now it has EIGHT blooms in full blossom. Amazing.
What the Mountain Family does: read
Actually talking to one another is reserved for the campfires, after all, while there is still light, one MUST read!! ;)
Oh-la-la Grandma!
We were just scandilized to find out what type of bra our 80 year old Grandmother was wearing.
Wait, who figured it out in the first place??? And where did the matching panties disappear to????
