This is a work in progress. Please feel free to vocalize and direct. Just pretend it's picnic on Grandpa's land: all hands on board?? YES!!! (and a few sticky ones too I might add) ;)
Ok folk; fess up; what are your funniest cheapskate economies? This is mine; David eats three canned plums every day for breakfast and I always save the pits so I can burn them in the wood stove; waste not, want not. However, today the dogs got hold of one and thought it was a bone..I may not be able to extract any heat from that one...

I reuse coffee filters occasionally. if I've only made one cup of coffee and dumped the grounds and rinsed the filter off immediately after use and it doesn't look brown, I stick it back in the holder for the next time I'm just making one cup. how odd is that?
I cut up an airtran fleece blanket to use as diaper liners, I use receiving blankets to make diapers and the scraps for wipes (wet down with water), and if I use a paper wipe, it goes in the washing machine with the diapers for one more use.
the heels of homemade bread turn into bread crumbs, and cookies that are burnt on the bottom get the black scraped off and the top becomes the base for a crumb crust for pie.
um...we all seem to have the wrapping paper saving addiction (when I wrapped christmas presents for my mother, I tried to ONLY use paper from previous years), and we all reuse gift bags...
well, I have to admit that I save "return to send, postage paid" envelopes that I get as junk mail and just cross out the address and use them to put our monthly rent check in and put in the rent box in the lobby downstairs. the front desk people must think I'm a miser but I hate throwing perfectly good envelopes out!!
and you all know that I use drug rep "gifts" to me (who could ever use all those pens/pads?!) as christmas gifts for y'all.....
I keep my big container of yogurt I mix my granola and fruit into for two weeks of use-hey, just more live cultures for me right? as long as you stir it, it looks fine....em, do you think that's ok? (you're the yogurt guri here, not me!)
and oh yeah, I'm compulsive about reusing paper/bags.
