Let's Get this Party Started!!

Well, since Aunt Cindy hasn't posted one of her fascinating, funny blogs in awhile, we need to get something new on this blog! And besides, we don't have a new baby in the family (yet, Em) to gabber on about and look at pictures of and there's only so much I can razz poor Em's Dan on the other blog (click "Dan's Blog" on the link to the left and read the comments on the blog with the picture of the Motorcycle with a baby seat strapped on it). So, as Grandpa used to be so fond of saying: "Let's talk about the weather!"
As many of you might have heard, it's been a wee bit **soaking wet** down here of late. And one storm lately sort of surprised us with some hail (see pictures). Unfortunately my poor tomato plant hasn't fared well with sitting in four inches of rain before I can get home to drain it out and move it out from the rain. The thing is about ready to kick the bucket. I fear my zuchini plant isn't far behind. Sigh. Guess I'll have to go back to buying my veggies from the local grocer.
The storm last week was so bad we couldn't even see across the street-we haven't had a storm that bad in awhile.I stopped by a local garage sale at one of the *posh* homes last week and found this painting under the table. $2, hand painted by the lady of the house. Which means she qualifies as a "local artist" to my friend Tabby, who is a STRONG African American lady, whom this painting reminded me of (except she doesn't have red hair, which I love). So Tabby was thrilled to be given the painting as she now finally has something from a *local artist*. ;)
